"Those who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt the person doing it..." ~ Chinese Proverb
This is a quote that I carry with me and it is very applicable to my experiences with modeling. Unlike many aspiring models, I began my career in my early 20s. At first, I was very intimidated, but fortunately, there were many people that believed in me and encouraged me to dive right in. The thing I appreciate most from modeling, is learning to take criticism. It has been a very challenging road so far, but not only have I grown in my craft and overall knowledge of the modeling business, I've also grown as a person.
I did my first photoshoot back in October of 2003. After I received my images, I created online model profiles at both onemodelplace.com and musecube.com. I aggressively pursued photographers to shoot with on a TFP (Time For Print) basis in order to build up a portfolio. Shortly after I had more shoots under my belt, I signed with the Honey Dripper Models of Hatka Entertainment. This agency worked hard for me and eventually got me placed on the cover of Black Men Magazine no more than 6 months after I started modeling. Since then, I've done 2 music videos for professional recording artists as well as other print work.
I am actively working to master my craft as a model. I am learning each day and hope to continue modeling for as long as possible! I am so grateful to God, my family and friends for being such an awesome support network...and for believing me, I know that there is so much MORE in store for me as a model. I've just begun and look forward to a successful future in this industry!
