Celebrity Waiter Dinner -  November 9, 2008

Our annual Dick Howser Celebrity Waiter Dinner and Community Auction is coming up. Don’t miss out on this fun night filled with music, dancing and great food!!!

All proceeds go to serving all of our children in the Big Bend area.

Event Sponsorships
Companies and community groups are encouraged to support the Dick Howser Center for Childhood Services, Inc. through sponsorship of our events. Sponsorships help Dick Howser Center children and helping children is good business. People support companies which support their communities. Dick Howser Center sponsorship gets the word out about your business, provides name recognition opportunities and lets your employees know you believe in bettering the communities in which they work and live. Sponsorships are currently available for our Celebrity Waiter Dinner. Benefits to your company and/or organization can include prominent logo placement and/or signage at special events, advertising in programs, tickets and special seating at events, recognition on our website and in our annual report. And, of course, our sponsors have fun at our events and are proud of the role they play in keeping children safe and learning while their parents work.

Volunteer
The Dick Howser Center welcomes and encourages highly motivated individuals to become volunteers at all levels of our organization.  While our needs vary from time to time, we will make every effort to match your skills, abilities and interests to the needs of our organization.

Donate Stock
If you own shares of a stock, mutual fund, or other type of security, you can donate all or some of those shares to The Dick Howser Center. The sale of your securities qualifies as a tax-exempt donation.

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts ensure that your donations permanently endow scholarships and creat a legacy in perpetuity. Planned gifts include bequests, wills, gift annuities, and gifts of life insurance and retirement plans. We recommend you have your attorney or estate planner call us in advance to make sure any special requests you may have as to the use of the funds can be accommodated.

In Memory/In Honor of/In Name of Gifts
In whatever form you choose to make your gift, you can designate that it be listed in memory of a family member or friend, in honor of an individual, or in recognition of a special occasion.

In-Kind Donations
Being a nonprofit agency, we rely heavily upon the goodwill and donations of others to assist us in providing high quality services our children deserve. Dick Howser Center for Childhood Services is always looking for items the children can use in our programs to enrich and enhance educational activities and provide the most therapeutic environment possible. We are looking for businesses or individuals who would be willing to “adopt” one of our classrooms or playgrounds. Our classrooms are divided by ages ranging from babies to toddlers to preschoolers. We are seeking donations such as toys, puzzles, books, sheets, puppets, CD players, art supplies, balls, bicycles, sand toys etc. Each classroom has come up with a specific “wish” list of items we need. 

If you are able to adopt a classroom or playground, we would love to put a plaque in the classroom to thank you for your generous contribution. And, with your permission, we would like to list you or your business as a sponsor in Dick Howser advertisements and literature. Items should be new or in very good condition and clean. Your donation will be greatly appreciated! You will receive documentation to use for tax deduction purposes. Please click on WISH LIST to find a comprehensive list of items, sorted by classroom and overall center needs, indicative of items we can use year-round.
